Understanding customer needs outside London

CONTEXT

Rosa's Thai serves fresh and fragrant Thai dishes from family recipes at locations across the UK.

CHALLENGE

With strong roots in the East of London, Rosa’s Thai has had over 15 years of strong growth, however, expanding outside Greater London was proving more challenging. 


The team came to us to help them understand consumers in other regions, their reaction and feedback to the Rosa’s proposition and most importantly what the business needed to do to appeal to and drive visits to their regional restaurants.

Boxclever conducted a qual and quant project starting with qualitative groups to understand non- Rosa’s Thai customers in the regions as well as asking a number to visit their closest Rosa’s Thai and feedback in the moment via WhatsApp. 


A follow-up quant stage with customers from their CRM database as well as non-customers, robustly quantified key themes from the qual stage, including a MaxDiff to understand the appeal of potential messaging. 

SOLUTION

The findings from both stages of the research were combined into a succinct, story-led debrief, helping the founders and senior stakeholders at Rosa's Thai to know exactly what to focus on going forward.
